You did not fulfil the same promises you made to teachers  in 2012 – Abronye Slams Mahama

Bono regional chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe Abronye has berated former president John Dramani over his pledge to offer incentives to teachers.

According to him, John Mahama made similar promises in 2012, but failed to deliver under his tenure of office.

This comes in the wake of NDC’S manifesto launch held in Winneba last Saturday.

Unveiling his manifesto, Mahama said he would offer incentives to teachers at rural areas when he is re elected.

Reacting to this on Wontumi Morning Show on 26th August, 2024, Abronye questioned why former president did not fulfil this pledge when he was in power.

“Mahama said in his 2012 manifesto that he would provide incentives for teachers but they remained unfulfilled when he was the president.

Now, his 2024 manifesto is also promising to offer 20 per cent of salary as an incentive to teachers in rural areas. I am asking why he didn’t do that in 2012. Was he not the president ?” He explained.
