Former president and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has pledged to restore payment of bonuses to Cocoa farmers when he is re elected in the upcoming elections.
This measure is aimed at boosting agriculture and enhancing the welfare of Cocoa farmers.
Speaking at the 2024 NDC Manifesto launch held at University of Education (Winneba), on Saturday, August 24, he said his government will re introduce the ferrilizer subsidy programme to boost food production and reduce inflation.
Improving the conditions of farmers, he promised to assign a portion of Cocoa receipts for health insurance for Cocoa farmers.
