NDC has to apologize to Ghanaians over deceit – Ashanti regional minister

The Ashanti regional minister, Simon Osei- Mensah has called on the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), to render an apology to Ghanaians.

This call follows the NDC’s assertion that the ruling government is involved in illegal recruitment of police personnel.

According to the minister, the opposition disseminated false information and deceived Ghanaians.

In an interview on Wontumi TV on 10th September, 2024, he emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring transparency in the recruitment process for personnel.

He emphatically stated that the NDC must take responsibility and apologize for their wrongdoing.

“A group called Q Net have been arrested for their illegal operations in the country. The police apprehended them in Kenyasi and some parts of Kwabre East. They were 487 persons in all so they had to be taken to the police depot.

“It was one police officer who sent a video of these perpetrators to the NDC, and the NDC spreaded fake news claiming we are involved in illegal recruitment. That police has been interdicted as I speak. Let’s be wary of the NDC.

They were engaged in illegal recruitment under their tenure so they are afraid we will also do same but we are not interested in that so they have to apologize to Ashanti region and Ghana as a whole” he stressed.

Speaking on security, he said the Akufo-Addo led administration has contributed immensely towards national security.
