According to her, she had a very good relationship with former President prior to the New Patriotic Party taking over power in 2017.

However, their relationship went sour after the New Patriotic Party took over power just because she praised Jean Mensah at an IPAC meeting.

“I had a very good relationship with John Mahama. He even built a house for me but he took it back because I praised Jean Mensah for being beautiful and humble at the same time. What happened was even before she was introduced to us, she helped me when I came to the EC’s office.

She gave me a seat and gave me water to drink. So when she was introduced at the IPAC meeting, I took the microphone and praised her for the gesture indicating that hardly do women who are beautiful humble themselves so if she is this beautiful and humble then I support her,” she said.

The late flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) said Asiedu Nketia who was the NDC’s representative at the meeting went to tell John Dramani Mahama what transpired at the meeting and that was when John Mahama did not give the house he built for me to me. But I’m not bothered,” she said in an interview with United Television weeks before her demise.

On whether she was sponsored by another political party, she explained that she used her own resources to fund her political party indicating that even the other political parties wished she was never part of the race.
