“Is Marching in Parliament the Best Way to Represent Your Constituencies? – David Boakye questions NDC MPs

The Bono East Regional Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP), David Boakye has raised questions regarding to the “Childish” behavior of the NDC MPs in the Chamber yesterday after Supreme Courts order.

David Boakye has strongly criticised the Minority Caucus, describing their actions as very shameful to their constituents

Speaking in an interview on Kumasi-based Wontumi TV/Radio, David Boakye expressed deep disappointment with the Speaker’s failure to abide by orders of the Supreme Court, which has resulted to the tension of tuesday’s proceedings.

He emphasised that Speaker’s broken Laws has far-reaching consequences, particularly given the severe impact on Government business.

Mr. Boakye also endorsed actions of the Majority led by Hon. Afenyo-Markin, for acting professionally and Honorably, citing the tension of the situation.

“If the best way to represent your constiuents is by marching in the parliament house then it’s very shamefull, Lawyers and senior members of parliament behaving like this, what are we telling the whole world? In fact i couldn’t believe it when I saw Lawyers in such action. For Speaker Bagbin, he has disgraced Ghana and has desappointed our democracy”

MPs can effectively represent their constituents and address challenges. Marching in parliament may be a symbolic gesture, but it is essential to explore more substantial and sustainable approaches to.
