The Ashanti regional chairman for the New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi Bosiako, Alias Chairman Wontumi has urged aspirants contesting the parliamentary seat in Ejisu constituency to support one another, even in the case of a loss in the interim elections.
According to him, only one individual can emerge as the winner in an election and not otherwise.
The parliamentary seat at Ejisu constituency in the Ashanti region has become vacant for a while, following the demise of the former deputy Finance minister, John Ampontuah Kumah.
The Ejisu constituency under the auspices of the New Patriotic Party, yesterday opened nomination for interested aspirants.
Speaking in an interview on Wontumi TV, on 3rd April, 2024, Chairman Wontumi indicated that Nine aspirants have filed nominations as at today, expected to end tomorrow, April, 4, 2024.
He added that, the aspirants will be vetted on Saturday, April, 5, 2024.
He However extolled the aspirants for their dedication and enthusiasm in this process.
“If Nine people have filed nominations, they are many but rather, it shows the love they have for the party and it is obvious that the New Patriotic Party will retain its seat ” he said.
He finally admonished the various aspirants to stand together even when, one of them is defeated.
“If you win, you should work together with those who also wanted the chance, and if you lose, you need to support your brother in his campaign to win the by-election ” he stressed.
