The Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, Hon James Klutse Avedzi has for the first time publicly reacted to his sacking as the Deputy Minority Leader in 2023 by the leadership of the National Democratic (NDC) in his absence.
During a one-one-one interview on Joy News’ The Pulse show monitored by MyNewsGH.com, James Klutse Avedzi disclosed that he was never bitter or aggrieved by the decision made by the party against him in his absence.
Speaking about how he felt after he was sacked, he said, “It is the party that gave me the opportunity to serve at a point. It is this same party that said go and sit somewhere. Why should I be angry?”, he quizzed.
“I have never been bitter about it. When it happened, I was out of the country. The Kenyan Parliament invited me to deliver some documents to their new committee on Public Accounts Committee so I was in Mombasa when my secretary called me that the party has brought a letter”. He disclosed
According to James Klutse, the party did not consult him before writing him the letter to relieve him from his post as the Deputy Minority Leader but he quickly added that he was not moved by the decision.
He further mentioned that the only move he took was to reach out to the General Secretary of the party, Fiifi Kwetey to express his appreciation
According to him, he was not aggrieved over the decision taken by the party against him because he had hope that he would be given a much higher position in the party.
It would be recalled that in 2023, the leadership of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) removed Harruna iddrisu as the Minority Leader and replaced him with Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam lawmaker Dr Cassiel Ato Forson.
Aisde from the removal of Harruna Iddrisu, the party also removed James Klutse Avedzi as Deputy Minority Leader and was also replaced him with Ellembelle Member of Parliament Kofi Armah Buah.
