A lecturer at the Kumasi Technical University(kstu), Dr. Solomon Kwarteng Fokuo, says, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will secure victory in the coming by-election.
According to him, the NPP has been obtaining majority of the total votes cast in every election conducted in the Ejisu Constituency.
He believes that, the constituents have benefitted from the party, regarding developmental projects, and will never ditch NPP for another political party.
Electoral Commission has scheduled April 30, for the by-election in the wake of the demise of John Ampontuah Kumah.
Speaking with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Kumasi based Wontumi TV, on 26th April, 2024, he pointed out the developmental projects that have been undertaken by the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia government.
“Ejisu is the NPP’s strong hold. It has been securing about 80% of votes. NPP is Ejisu and Ejisu is NPP. Ejisu does not belong to one particular person and they do not cast their votes because of one specific candidate. They have benefitted much from the party whenever it is in power. There is no tension in this by-election, as compared to the previous elections that were held in Kumawu and Assin North respectively”
“When you look at a town like Manso Nkwanta, their roads were deplorable, it was just recently Asenso Boakye cut the sword for the commencement of the the project. Their roads are will be fixed. They also vote massively for the NPP but they had their fair share of the National cake late. This is obvious that Ejisu is at the top in terms of development, and this is a reason to vote for the NPP’s parliamentary candidate, Lawyer Kwabena Boateng” he stressed.
He also asserted that development is a process and will soon reach the turn of towns who have not had their share.
