Ejisu by-elections: This is backstabbing, Was he not in Parliament for 12 years? – George Oppong to Aduomi

A former presiding member of Kwabre East, in the Ashanti region, Lawyer George Oppong has strongly berated the former member of Parliament for Ejisu, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, over his decision to contest as an independent candidate in the coming by-elections.

According to him, Mr. Aduomi was given the mandate to serve in Parliament as a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for the third consecutive time.

The Electoral Commission has slated April 30, 2024, for the Ejisu by-election following the passing of John Ampontuah Kumah.

However, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi has declared his intention to contest the seat as an independent candidate.

Speaking in an interview on Wontumi TV, on 24th April, 2024, he described the former MP as a ‘backstabber ‘, emphasising that it was not a right thing to do.

“It is the NPP who gave him the opportunity to serve for 12 years in Ejisu. He acquired his glory through this same party. Is he even aware of the number of people who do not receive a dime after their service to the party?

He should be grateful to the party instead of backstabbing” he stressed.

He also admonished party executives to refrain from such act.
