DCE, Kumawu Traditional Council inspect projects in Kumawu

Honourable Samuel Addai Agyekum, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Sekyere Kumawu and the Kumawu Traditional Council in the Ashanti region led by Barima Safo Tweneboah Kodua has on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, toured some developmental projects within the jurisdiction.

Convoyed by his staff, the media and Barima Satfo Tweneboah Kodua, Kumawumanhene, visited the Newly Built National Health Insurance Office in Kumawu which is yet to be commissioned

Barima Safo Tweneboah Kodua told the media, he’s impressed with the standard of the office.

The entourage then went to see the ongoing Kumawu Majestrict Court to see work done so far which is supposed to curb judgment and justice in the area.

The DCE and the entourage then visited the Two Bedroom Bungalow to be used as the official residence of the Judge.

The tour took them to see the new Kumawu government hospital project which was initiated and abandoned for years by the NDC, but now completed.

Hon. Agyekum said the completion of the facilities are very dear to his heart, he added that the hospital will be one of his greatest achievements. He expressed that quality healthcare, good judgement create peaceful atmosphere in a particular jurisdiction

The DCE also visited the district assembly project which is almost completed.  The contractor assured the DCE that, the project is expected to be completed before June this year.

The DCE also commended the stakeholders for their keen interest in the construction of the hospital and urged them to continue supporting the government and the firms to deliver excellent work in the district.

Barima Safo Tweneboah Kodua, hailed the MCE who he said has done so well and appealed to the religious leaders of Kumawu to support him fully to do more and also complete other projects

He told the media, the hospital is a modern standard that is purposely established to serve beyond Kumawu and it environs which would be boosted and employment in many forms is going to be generated to help the people develop and live in healthy and safe environment.

Barima Safo Tweneboah Kodua has set the record straight that the hospital has been abandoned but thanks to the President, Nana Akufo-Addo for his intervention.

Barima Safo Tweneboah Kodua has therefore urged Doctors and Nurses, especially the residents of Kumawu to treat the facility with the necessary attention it deserves.

Scope of work undertaken by the contractor includes work on the OPD, OBS & Gynaecology Ward, Maternity, Laboratory Unit, Administration, Conference Room, Pharmacy Unit, Theatre Suites, and Labour Ward, Surgical Ward, NICU, CSSD, Children Ward, Kitchen, Laundry, Water Supply, Medical Gas System, and A&E Expansion and Imaging Centre and many others which the district health director, Lawrence Adinkra says the load on Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital will be reduced due to the quality standard of the facility once it operationalised.
