DATCCU goes digital to make transactions easier for clients – Marketing Officer

Dormaa Area Teachers Cooperative Credit Union (DATCCU), a financial institution that has its headquarters at Dormaa Ahenkro and its branches across the communities within the Bono region has taken advantage of the digitalization processes within the country with the introduction of digital banking which makes it easier for clients to create bank accounts, have access to their account and make transactions without stress.

Speaking to Mr. Philip Owusu Agyei, the Marketing Officer of DATCCU in an exclusive interview, he noted that the world is currently engulfed with technology and digitalization therefore, DATCCU has introduced a USSD code (*248*234#) that makes it easier for clients to create new account and gain access to their existing account to make the necessary transactions without going to the bank’s premises stressing that the decision was brought up to ameliorate the stress their clients go through before making transactions.

In maintaining the financial stability of People within the DATCCU catchment areas, Mr. Philip Owusu Agyei disclosed that they have affordable interest rates for their loans which range from 6% to 24% as a result of their cooperative relationship with their clients and the People of Ghana.

He explained that DATCCU charges an interest rate of 24 % per anum on salary loans for government workers adding that individuals who save with DATCCU are given cash/Normal loans with loan rates of 21% per anum with other short-term interest rates of 6 – 10 % per month to reduce financial pressure and burden.

He therefore called on the general public to trade with DATCCU for affordable banking services to lessen hardship in life
